Work with Manufacturing/Operations Manager regarding production planning and scheduling function, capacity forecasting and development of new product/program planning and scheduling. Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels and production capacity to determine short-range schedules and long-range critical capacity limitations. Coordinate activities with purchasing functions in obtaining material, equipment and services at competitive prices and satisfactory quality levels. Direct material handling activities to include outside processing, transportation, and shipping. Supervise the activities of materials research and systems, including departmental systems procedures, inventory analysis, performance analysis, standardization and long-range planning. Verify and ensure ISO 9001 certification is maintained in the planning and scheduling area. Key focus is on understanding product mix delivery issues, SIOP processes, maintaining customer schedules, maintaining level load as part of the shop floor control system, reducing inventory, and directing the production planning and buyer/planner personnel toward these goals/objectives so that execution is a part of their everyday effort.
