The position will assist in production scheduling to ensure a smooth workflow while meeting actual customer demand within internal capacity constraints. The candidate will monitor the process to ascertain adherence to schedules, resource allocation and other factors contributing to the effective execution of the production schedule. The Buyer Planner will perform all functions needed to ensure the lowest cost of purchased and manufactured products.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or production planning
• Computer proficiency required in Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Experience with CAD, Access, Crystal Reports, MRP/ERP a plus.
• Strong communications skills, and technical background preferred
• Minimum of Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Participate in forecasting demand and analyzing inventory trends
• Schedule production equipment
• Maintain continuous material availability and minimize inventory
• Negotiate the purchase of materials, equipment and supplies from suppliers
• Solicit quotations for materials and services, analyze bids for specification compliance, pricing, delivery commitments, and ensure vendor reliability
• Monitor supplier performance
• Negotiate delivery, terms and conditions, pricing, and expedite/follow through
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers, problem solve challenges and issue recommend solutions
•Manage supplier relationships and maintain database for supplier and product data
